What is a Rapé Ceremony:
Plant medicine has been used since the dawn of time. It can be such a protective and supportive ally in our healing spiritual journey. Rapé is not a mind altering plant but does bring the mind into a deep meditative state. Understanding how to respect a ceremony and all of the healing possibilities can an empowering tool for your spiritual tool box.
How is Rapé made:
Creating rapé blends is a sacred and ritualistic act which requires silence, focus, prayer, and intentions. Tribes from the Amazon harvest all the plants that are needed whether it is bark, leaves, or other medicinal plants, it is collected and the birth of the rapé is initiated. Tree bark ashes is typically a big part of the rapé blends. Just merely burning bark does not create rapé. This is burned for several hours, not too hard or soft, and proper dryness based on humidity. The ashes are then sifted into a fine powder making sure that stones, charcoal, or other debris and impurities are removed. Working with ashes for spiritual and medicinal purposes has been present in ancient Indian culture for thousands of years. The ashes themselves hold salts and minerals that are a key factor in its healing properties. There are typically three types of tobacco that are utilized for making rapé, one is not better than another it varies within different tribes.

FAQ's:

Plant medicines are used to heal & bring in new levels of connection to source. Indigenous cultures have developed unique techniques for switching modes of consciousness shifting right into a meditative state, it is not mind altering. Rapé is typically used for spiritual, energetic, and physical clearing and detoxing. This is done with intentions, ceremony, and respect, for deep healing. Rapé is known for its heart opening qualities and many people refer to it as the miracle medicine.

Different people react in different ways. Some of the feedback is light to moderate burning sensation right after blowing the rapé into your nostril. This is a quick and temporary feeling. Mucous release from the nose or mouth. Detox physically or spiritually, (rare) vomiting, post session you may notice loose or binding bowel movements. In extreme cases of blocks being released sometimes you feel “out of it” or dizzy and if this happens you should reach out to check on your energy and soul.

Many people express feeling waves of energy, release of negative emotions, feel lighter, more free, clearer, centered, and grounded. Some other benefits are supporting a connection to your guides, helpers, and your higher self. Rapé is known as a heart opening plant medicine and will strengthen the Third Eye. Rapé is a very healing plant and you may notice that you heal your chakras on a deep level. Healing is very layered and as different blocks surface and clear, you shift into deeper healing.

Tobacco is an addictive product and rapé does contain tobacco as one of the ingredients. Outside of that many indigenous tribes believe that when connecting to rapé through ceremony and intention it is non habit forming. These statements from the tribes have not been scientifically proven.

We do not recommend eating a heavy meal prior to ceremony. You should be hydrated. It is not safe to step into a healing ceremony and have an abrupt shift in the environment. Make sure that you have a quiet, comfortable space that will be uninterrupted. It can cause confusion and in serious cases soul loss. There is no wrong way to create your sacred environment, surround yourself in your connections, whether stones, candles, sage, palo santo, or pillows, as long as you feel comfortable.

Based on your own intentions prior to going into the ceremony, the level of intensity may vary. Listen to your body and your spirit on what you might need whether that is rest, a day to yourself, or time with nature. If you find that you are really dizzy, not grounded, consumed with emotion, out of it or “not whole” after a major energy release please reach out. I’m here to support your journey and can check your energy to make sure no issues arose during your deep meditative state.

Make sure you limit the exposure to air and use the air tight container it came in to avoid attracting water to the powdery substance. Rapé should be stored in a dark and dry place in your home. Because these blends are made by several different tribes in the Amazon Forest of Brazil, it is unknown every ingredient. This is a sacred practice and can include many different plants. If you find that you have many plant allergies, you may not want to participate in this plant medicine.

The word rapé comes from the Spanish words “raspar”. This word means to scrape or graze which is associated with how the blends are made. Rapé is pronounced “haa-peh”. Rapé is a sacred shamanic snuff. Using rapé isn’t meant for recreational use and we will give you all the knowledge you need to understand the powerful healing effects as well as how to connect to the spirit of the plants all while respecting the traditional ceremony.

As I have deeply connected to the spirit of the plants, rapé for me is all about shifting energy. Everything is energy, it all has a story. Whether the energy presents as a block, past life, everyday stress, trauma, ancestral cords, it is within us. Every encounter is stored within us, creating who we are. Sometimes our experiences can be energetically heavy. This spiritual encounter is such a beautiful way of releasing the presence of energy that is no longer serving our best and highest good.
